Starring Jose Yenque (Miss Bala, Traffic), this beautiful short film dignifies the efforts of a hard day’s work – no matter the type of work.  For 8-year old Ernesto (Max Weideman) life is hard and the pressures of poverty push him to grow up too soon. Forced to live in a cramped home, with his moody older brother and dicey day-worker tenants, Ernesto constantly treads a tight rope.The tender love of his ‘Mama’ (Marita De La Torre) does little to ease the many blows made to young Ernesto’s ego throughout his day. Before too long, little Ernesto sheds his young skin and stands up to his bullies and finds himself confronting his own demons face-to-face. Botes al Amanecer is dedicated to all those families and parents that never give up, and are always looking for ways to help their families succeed.
